What is caffeine?: Caffeine is a naturally occurring substance found in coffee beans, tea leaves, kola nuts, cocoa beans and many other plants. Caffeine can also be man-made. Many common foods and beverages such as coffee, tea and chocolate contain caffeine. Caffeine - either natural or man-made - is also added to some beverages, providing a slightly bitter taste that enhances some flavors and balances the sweetness of others.
Is caffeine safe?: Both natural and man-made forms of caffeine are safe ingredients that have been enjoyed in foods and beverages for centuries. Caffeine is one of the most studied ingredients in the food supply. The American Medical Association, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and numerous regulatory agencies worldwide have found that consuming caffeine in moderate amounts is safe for all consumers. Moderate amounts are most often defined as the amount of caffeine that would be consumed daily in two 8-ounce cups of home-brewed coffee, two 20-ounce bottles of caffeinated soda, or a 16-ounce energy drink.

Pregnant women, or people sensitive to caffeine, should follow the advice of their healthcare provider regarding caffeine intake.
How do I know how much caffeine is in your products?: If caffeine is added to any of our beverages, we include it in the ingredient list and show the amount of caffeine on the product's label.
Is there a lot of caffeine in energy drinks?: PepsiCo's energy drinks contain about the same amount of caffeine as a similar size cup of home-brewed coffee and significantly less than coffeehouse coffees.
